Kat Von D and her musician husband have just become first-time parents!

The 36-year-old entrepreneur and high profile tattoo artist and her rocker, author husband, Rafael Reyes, recently welcomed their darling little son into the world, and it appears the pair could not be happier over becoming mommy and daddy.

The couple chose to announce their child's arrival via Instagram, letting Kat's seven million social media fans know that little Leafar Von D Reyes had officially made his debut. In the picture, little Leafer can be seen safely tucked in his father's arms. The new mother went on to graciously thank everyone for their love and support and to also inform her followers that she and her partner would be taking the next 40 days to themselves, choosing to unplug from social media and connect with their son.

Mama Von D's choice to disappear from the public eye comes as a bit of a surprise considering she was nothing if not open and opinionated during her pregnancy. Von D ruffled plenty of feathers when she announced that she would not be vaccinating her child once he was born. While the mama-to-be stood firmly by her decision not to vaccinate, plenty of former fans expressed their disappointment in her saying that they would be boycotting her beauty line because of her stance on the widely debated issue. It is currently the recommendation of the medical community that children get the suggested vaccinations to help eradicate diseases and illnesses when possible as well as keep the individuals healthy.

She also spoke out in regards to her feelings on using a midwife instead of a traditional childbirth doctor in a hospital setting saying that no one's thoughts and opinions on the subject really mattered and this was her body, her baby and ultimately her choice. She sparked even more controversy when she shared her wishes to raise her child completely vegan once he was born.

We have little doubt that Kat and her husband will continue to raise the public's eyebrows as they move through their parenting journey. Congrats to the funky, talented family on the birth of their son. Best wishes!
