Kate Hudson's daughter, Rani Rose, recently turned one, which means it was only a matter of time before she started walking — and the actress shared the baby's first steps for the world!

In a post on Instagram, Hudson recorded Rani's first steps, and it's adorable. In the video, Hudson can be heard saying "come to mama" while her daughter is standing upright in jeans and a T-shirt featuring Kurt Russell's iconic role as Snake Plissken from Escape New York. After a few seconds, Rani is moving, eventually making her way to her mother.

Interestingly enough, the t-shirt has a little more personal value to Hudson aside from being a cool piece of pop culture. Hudson's mother, Goldie Hawn, has been in a relationship with Russel since 1983!

Rani is Hudson's third child, but her first with boyfriend, creator of Lightwave Studios, Danny Fujikawa. She shares her other two children with Chris Robinson and Matt Bellamy. Those two are Ryder Russell (15) Robinson and Bingham Hawn Bellamy (8). So while she's experienced in the field of motherhood, her hands are going to be as full as ever.

Back to the new walker, however, according to What To Expect, Rani is right on track. They say babies start walking around nine to 14 months, though some do take a little longer. In fact, oftentimes, the timeframe regarding a baby's first steps could be traced back to their parents. If they were late bloomers in that regard, there's a chance that the little one may follow suit. It's recommended that parents let their babies have some time to move about. In fact, parents can even encourage them while they're still crawling by placing toys in places on the floor that require them to move. Once they actually start showing they can stand on their own, parents should think about moving some furniture around to help the new walker hold onto something when they stand. There are also walker toys that are worth a bit of an investment to encourage mobility.

Turning one on Oct. 2, 2019, she's right on track. For the first year of life, a baby is still getting a handle on muscle development and coordination, so they'll start by rolling over and sitting before working their way up to crawling and eventually walking.
