Every year since 1990, PEOPLE Magazine has printed a specific issue that used to be titled “The Most Beautiful People." But now it is simply titled “The Beautiful Issue”. Though the magazine shares stories of several celebrities, one celebrity is specifically highlighted for their personal growth and achievements for the year. It was recently revealed that actress Kate Hudson, her mother Goldie Hawn, and her 18-month old daughter Rani posed for this years cover of “The Beautiful Issue”.
A sneak peek of the magazine cover has been shared and it couldn’t be more beautiful. Hawn, Hudson, and Rani are all wearing white clothing in front of a rose-gold background. Hawn is wearing an off-the-shoulder dress with a see-through lace panel around her waist. Hudson is wearing a jumpsuit with lots of ruffles on her shoulders and her high collar. Rani simply has a ruffled bloomer covering her diaper. The tag line on the cover reads “Love, Family, & True Beauty”.
In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres conducted from their homes, Hudson explained that doing the photoshoot with her mother was “such a joy” because they don’t do things like that very often. She went on to say that “now more than ever, family is everything, isn’t it?”. With stresses from the Coronavirus pandemic, families feel strained between working at home (or filing for unemployment) and then trying to keep their kids on track with schooling. Hudson said, “We’re doing all we can...to protect our unit. I think that the message of a strong unit is really important and beautiful”.
Along those same thoughts, back in February before social distancing was put in place, PeopleTV also interviewed Hawn and Hudson about the photoshoot and they made some profound comments about their families. Hudson mentions that her mother and Kurt Russell “have been able to maintain a unit” so strongly for such a long time that it has been such a great benefit to everyone in their family. Hawn stressed the importance of “slowing down” and not getting caught up with having busy lives so that she could have such strong bonds with her children. Lastly, Hudson shares her gratitude for her mother and how she helped shape her life. She said she hopes to do the same for little Rani.
