When we see the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton with her kids, we can’t help but be reminded of her late mother-in-law Princess’s Diana’s parenting style.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William, and Duchess Kate, visited the King’s Cup, a charity sailing regatta, last week with their kids, Princess Charlotte, and Prince George. Upon seeing the family pictures shared by the Sun, we were reminded of Princess Diana in 1993, when she took her two sons, Princes William and Harry, on a family outing out at Thorpe Park.

In some photos, Princess Charlotte sticks out her tongue to the crowds while her mother encouraged her to wave to the crowds.Princess Charlotte is merely four, so when she cheekily poked out her tongue to the crowd instead of abiding her mother’s advice to wave at them, the audience loved her reaction. And no one took offence to it, as that's a natural reaction for a toddler.

Some even found it to be adorable and hilarious. “Love Kate's reaction! Just like Diana would have reacted,” commented one fan on a picture of Charlotte and Kate.

But this isn't the first time fans have gushed over Kate's relatioonship with her kids! There have been many other such occasions where we have seen a distinct similarity between the parenting styles of these two Royal ladies.

Princess Diana loved spending time with her two sons, and we often saw them on family vacations. During their trip to the island of Necker in April 1990, the royal mama was seen playing at the beach with her sons.

Middleton has also been spotted in a scene similar to in June 2018, when she went to watch Prince William’s polo game at Beaufort Polo Clubs with her two kids. Prince George and Princess Charlotte played around, while the confident mother watched them peacefully. Just like Princess Diana, she also knows how to handle her little darlings.

Another incident took place during the family’s visit to Hamburg in 2017. Little Charlotte had a meltdown in front of the cameras, and we could see Kate telling her one-off. There have been many such moments of Diana when we have seen her disciplining her children. At Trooping the Colour in 1998 when Prince Harry stuck his tongue out the crowds, the late Princess looked less than impressed.

However, body language expert Judi James feels that Middleton’s mom wasn’t at all impressed with this kiddish antics of Princess Charlotte. James said, “Kate’s reaction is hilarious here and probably totally appropriate for the moment, although Grandma Carole looks as though she might be thinking of nipping this playful naughtiness in the bud.”
