Kate Middleton is preparing for the birth of her third baby and as the world can imagine, it’s going to be one royal affair. But then again, that’s always the case whenever a member of the British royal family is about to give birth to a future monarch. For royal fans, it’s an exciting time to be alive. For Prince William and Kate Middleton, it’s a lot of stress, worry, and chaos. After all, their handlers have to make sure that everything will go as planned. Nothing can be out of order or out of place, especially at St. Mary’s Hospital in London.

The Duchess of Cambridge will be giving birth to her third child in the hospital and as you can imagine, the staffers are already getting ready for the media circus that is about to ensue.

That's because everyone will want to get a glimpse of the future Queen or King to be. Nothing can go wrong between now and the moment Kate Middleton gives birth.

With that being said, here are 15 ways St. Mary’s Hospital at the royal family are preparing for the birth of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s third child. Take a look and let us know what you think!

15 Royal Birth Plan

It shouldn’t surprise anyone that Prince William and Kate Middleton already have a royal birth plan in place. After all, this isn’t their first rodeo. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge want to make sure that everything will go as planned, and that’s why they are going with the royal family’s hospital of choice: St. Mary’s in London.

William and Kate trust the team of nurses and doctors who will be on hand to make sure the delivery is a smooth one. Many other royals have given birth at the hospital, too.

According to Royal Central, “The Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital in London has overseen private births for generations of families since 1937. Princes William, Harry and George were all born at the Paddington hospital as were Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall.”

14 Making Room For The Media

It’s without a doubt that Kate Middleton would love to give birth to baby number three in privacy and without all of the chaos that comes with having the media right outside the door. But as she’s the future Queen Mother of England, that’s not going to happen. The public want to see the newest royal, just like everyone else. There’s no way she can have a home birth. Regardless of whether Kate likes it or not, she must make room for the media outside of St. Mary’s.

Back in September of 2017, The Daily Mail wrote, “The Duchess’s wish for a home birth last time was taken so seriously that the route from Kensington to St Mary’s was timed in case of any scare. My source adds: ‘The Duke and Duchess decided not to take the risk last time. A similar request with the third baby would be more acceptable.’”

13 Safety And Security

There’s no denying that Kate Middleton probably has butterflies in her stomach as we write this. No matter how many times you give birth, each and every experience is different.

And considering how she’s one of the most famous and prominent royals in the world, her family’s safety and security are definitely on her mind.

Us Weekly reports, “As soon as Kate, 36, goes into labor, she and William, 35, will begin the mile-and-a-half drive from Kensington Palace to St. Mary’s. ‘The hospital will get only five minutes’ notice ahead of Kate’s arrival,’ shares the source. The tight timeline is designed ‘to prevent anyone being tipped off that she’ll be leaving home,’ notes the source. ‘And because everything is organized so precisely, the hospital can handle such short notice.’”

12 A Helicopter On Stand By

Several reports in the past have indicated that Kate has always had a royal helicopter on standby, just in case her baby decided to make his or her way a little early. After all, many mothers can give birth as early as 37 weeks or as late as 42 weeks. And seeing how traffic in London is always a problem, they want to make sure that they’ll get to the hospital in a timely manner.

Vanity Fair writes, “Kate has decided that she will have her third baby at the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Paddington, where both Prince George and Princess Charlotte were born. There had been speculation that the duchess was considering a home birth, but royal sources say that she has opted for a hospital delivery and that a suite is all ready and sealed off ahead of the royal birth.”

11 Her Hairdresser

There are a lot of things that are important and that you have to remember before leaving the house for the hospital. But for Kate Middleton, it’s all about the hair.

There’s no way she will make her debut with her third baby in a top or messy hair bun.

That’s why she has her royal hairdresser on standby at all times. The tresses have to look perfect, you guys!

Back in 2015, People Magazine wrote, “When Princess Kate goes into hospital for the birth of her second child, her much-trusted medical team will be by her side. But there is another person also on speed dial – Kate’s hairdresser, Amanda Cook Tucker. The 53-year-old hairdresser is no stranger to the royal family as she’s been cutting William’s hair since he was a teen.”

10 Her Debut Outfit

And not only does Kate Middleton have to look like she’s just stepped out of a salon (even though she’s really just stepping out of a hospital), but her debut outfit has to be on point, too. Because let’s face it: whatever the Duchess of Cambridge will wear outside of the hospital will most likely fly off the store shelves in a matter of minutes. It’s happened before and yes, it will definitely happen again. Kate Middleton is a royal style icon, after all.

Also, Kate sets the trends when it comes to maternity and motherhood wear. Every mom on both sides of the Atlantic want to dress just like her. According to People Magazine, Kate wore Jenny Packman when she made her grand debut with Prince George in 2013 and again with Princess Charlotte in 2015.

9 Pizza On Call

Believe it or not, both Prince William and Kate Middleton are a huge fan of takeout food (or take away if you live on the other side of the pond). Sure, the royals look like a fit couple, but they have their weaknesses for takeout curry food or pizza once in a while, too.

It was even Kate’s go-to meal after giving birth to Charlotte in 2015.

Hello Magazine reported, “After an undoubtedly tiring 11-hour labor, the future King's mother and father are said to have ordered two pizzas to the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital, Paddington at around 8:45pm.While the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge tucked into their pizzas, the news broke via email press release that their baby son had been born at 4:24pm that afternoon weighing 8lb 6oz."

8 Prince William Is On Stand By, Too

While the focus is most definitely on Kate Middleton, let’s not forget that Prince William will be by her side, too. As a matter of fact, Prince William is already on standby, waiting for the arrival of either his future prince or princess.

But at the same time, Hello Magazine claims that Prince Williams feels as though he already has his hands full. And who can blame him? While no one knows just how many more kids Kate wants to have, the buck stops at three, according to Will. The Future King of England has been quoted as saying, “Twins? I think my mental health would be tested with twins. Two is fine, I don’t know how I’m going to cope with three, I’m going to be permanently tired.”

7 Babysitters For George And Charlotte

While the mom and dad are away, the royal kids will play! Actually, we kid. Before Prince William and Kate Middleton make their way to the hospital, they have to make sure that their two children Prince George and Princess Charlotte are well taken care of by their household staff.

Luckily for them, they have a team of staffers who are willing to help the children and their needs 24 hours a day.

And yes, Charlotte speaks Spanish, too, and that’s mostly because she spends so much time with her Spanish nanny, Maria Turrion Borrallo. “She’s very sweet and very confident — she’s always chatting away,” says a source according to People Magazine. What’s more, the young tot, “is so polite, but also fun and energetic,” says the source, adding, “She has beautiful manners.”

6 Presents For The Royal Siblings

For many families, they have a tradition of buying presents for the older siblings-to-be before their little brother or sister’s arrival. And yes, the royal family is no different. Kate Middleton wants to make sure that there are no jealousy issues between the new baby and George and Charlotte. That’s why she’s doing all the preparations now before the chaos kicks in.

Kate Middleton is also giving her kids the one-on-one time they deserve. Vanity Fair writes, “Kate is making the most of her time with George and Charlotte ahead of the birth and trying to enjoy some downtime before her life gets even busier. She is understood to have already organized presents for the prince and princess so that there won’t be any jealousy when baby Cambridge comes home.”

5 But They Refuse To Hire Additional Staff

According to media reports, Prince William and Kate Middleton have allegedly refused to hire any additional staff to help with the third baby. That’s because they want to be as hands-on as possible and the only way to do it, is if you do the job yourself.

In other words, Kate Middleton isn’t like other royals or celebrities in the entertainment world for that matter.

Vanity Fair reports, “Kate prizes herself on being a hands-on mother, and despite the fact that she will be juggling three young children with demanding royal duties, royal sources have told VF.com that there are no plans for the couple to hire any additional staff. The couple has a full-time nanny, Maria Borrallo, who will also have the youngest Cambridge baby under her charge.”

4 They Already Know The Gender

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone, but the Duke and Duchess already know the gender of their third baby. For the rest of us, we will just have to wait and find out when the baby arrives. Of course, bookies have already made their bet and have a feeling that we will be seeing more pink than blue in the coming months. But then again, it’s a 50/50 chance, right? They might be wrong just as much as they are right.

The world will find out soon enough. Royal Central says, “It is understood that the Duke and Duchess do not know the gender of the baby preferring to keep it a surprise. However, bookmakers make a baby girl the favorite with the name Mary topping the names list.”

3 Emergency Preparations

Of course, Kate Middleton – along with her royal fans and the rest of the world – are hoping for a smooth, uncomplicated and uneventful delivery. Thankfully, that’s how her pregnancy has been so far, but anything can still happen down to the very last second. That’s why St. Mary’s hospital is putting emergency preparations into place right now and as we write this.

Under no circumstances can anything go wrong. They also have to prepare for any surprises along the way.

According to Brit.co, “St. Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, West London, marked off specific areas for the media and set up crowd barriers to help keep the public at a safe distance. Notices went up around South Wharf Road, indicating that parking has been suspended from April 9 to April 30 for an “event” (AKA the royal baby’s birth).

2 Parking Ban

As you can imagine, the security is so tight in and around St. Mary’s hospital that they have even enforced a parking ban right in front of the hospital. And because so many things have happened in London in the last several years, no one wants to take chances. After all, the world is a different place. The hospital can’t afford to have commoners running around either in or outside of the hospital when there’s a royal baby making its debut inside.

According to Royal Central, “Signs have appeared outside of the world famous Lindo Wing making people aware that parking restrictions are in place for the media to be in position. The parking ban runs from April 9 until April 30 with rumors that the Duchess of Cambridge is due on St George’s Day, 23 April.”

1 It’s Now Or Never

For Prince William and Kate Middleton, it’s now or never. It’s game day. It’s the day they have been waiting for, for the last several months now. And while no one knows if baby number three will be the last one for the royal couple, we have a feeling that they feel like their family is near complete. With Prince George and Princess Charlotte, their newest sibling will only add to the delight and joy of raising a royal family.

After all, Kate has said numerous times that she wants to give her children the same kind of childhood she had while growing up. In other words, she wants it to be memorable.

According to Brainy Quotes, Kate Middleton once had this to say, “I was lucky. My parents and teachers provided me with a wonderful and secure childhood where I always knew I was loved, valued, and listened to.”
