Katharine McPhee is eager to have babies as soon as possible with her 69-year-old husband, David Foster. The 35-year-old singer-songwriter wants to start a family of her own, and she fears that her husband may miss out on a lot in their kids’ lives if they don’t have children soon. With the age difference, her concerns are definitely valid.
The pair met during the 5th season of American Idol. McPhee was a strong contestant, and Foster was her mentor. She didn’t win the competition, but she went on to continue her music career—releasing a self-titled debut album in 2007. The two became good friends after the season ended; Foster even attended her wedding to Nick Cokas in 2008. McPhee split with Cokas in 2014, and Foster had a divorce with his wife, Yolanda Hadid, in 2017. After his divorce, the two publicly stated that they got together.
Currently, Foster has five daughters from his four previous marriages. While he doesn’t feel the need to have another baby, he isn’t against having children with McPhee. His family will continue to grow, and it’s not something he is dreading. Especially with his wife’s eagerness to have a child, it’s hard not to be excited by the idea of having another adorable little one running around the house.
McPhee has told the press that she wants to have children as soon as possible because she wants her husband to be able to enjoy their company before he gets too old. If they start having kids now, Foster will be 79 by the time the child is 10. Indeed, it will be quite difficult to run after an energetic 10-year-old at that age.
If they do want to have kids, they’ll have to start soon. It’s important that the both of them will have the energy to not only take care of the child but also to play and create memories with them. Without a doubt, the two will be loving parents no matter what age they decide to have children. Their kids are sure to have the best lullabies they can hear!
