Just four days after giving birth to her first child, Katy Perry is showing off her postpartum body in a photo on Instagram. The new mom just welcomed her first child into the world last week with fiancé Orlando Bloom. After a few days of settling into the life of motherhood, Perry is getting real with a photo that shows what postpartum life is like for many news moms.

Perry first announced she was pregnant in her music video for “Never Worn White” back in March. On August 27, the singer reposted a photo and caption to her Instagram page announcing the birth of her baby girl. According to PopSugar, Bloom and Perry named their little girl Daisy Dove Bloom, and said they are “floating with love” after her arrival. The post was in partnership with UNICEF, and focused on the risks of births during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since Daisy’s birth, the couple has been busy trying to keep up with parenthood. Perry did not attend the MTV VMAs on Sunday but did pay tribute to the award show with a postpartum body selfie. Perry is seen standing in front of a mirror with a pumping bra on by Medela. The new mom jokingly tagged “@exhaustion” in the photo as the stylist of her hair and makeup and then added a VMA sticker above her head.

The photo is an honest representation of what many new moms go through after giving birth. The unfiltered look brings new moms some comfort as exhaustion is probably their glam squad, too.
