Popular American actress and TV show host Kelly Ripa faced an emotional meltdown along with husband Mark Conseulos while sending their daughter Lola Conseulos to pursue higher studies. The couple is carving strong sentimental captions in their respective Instagram accounts sharing bittersweet moments of this dispersal.
The couple's daughter Lola Consuela is starting her first semester at New York University this fall, and the parents are understandably having a hard time holding back their emotions. On her Instagram account, Kelly shared a throwback video reminiscing about her daughter's childhood memories with a remarkably emotional caption. "#tbt 2001 from your Christening to college," she wrote. "In the blink of an eye. I’m not crying. You’re crying (actually Daddy’s sobbing)."
Every parent can relate to this feeling, and thus, many of Kelly's followers shared their own experiences. Equally grief-stricken, her husband Mark also responded with a comment loaded with emoji's and hearts.
One follower wrote, “You did a great job. It's when they don't leave the nest; it's a problem! You will savor the one on one with Joaquin! Enjoy!” Another fan made her feel good about having such a happy family, irrespective of her celebrity status, by saying “With or without celebrity status you guys got it….”.
Another follower and fellow mother said, “That was how I felt this week when our oldest started Kindergarten, I can't even imagine college.”
Kelly went on to post another photo on her official Instagram account Sunday, giving an adieu kiss to the 18-year old as she moves ahead to shape her future. She captioned it, "The nest is getting roomy…”. Mark commented with crying emoji's to express his inner sadness. While Anderson Cooper, Kelly's mate, said, "I will happily move in." Mark then shared the same photo, captioning it “2 down, 1 to go..”.
The parents have proudly celebrated their daughter reaching her milestones by sharing pictures of her prom night and graduation day on Instagram.
Kelly recently shared a lot of interesting personal details in an interview as a guest on “Jerry O'” hosted by Jerry O’ Connell. One of which was about Lola's prom's dress- “That’s the prom dress that we had made, and then she had altered behind our back when we weren't (looking). So, that’s why, you know, the girls are fully on display.”
The parents have already faced this phase with the eldest son Michael Joseph Consuelos, who is also studying at New York University. No parent wants to separate from their child, but as they say, “There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children. One of those is roots, the other, wings.”
