Kevin Federline Claims Britney Spears' Father Abused Their Son & Files For Custody

Kevin Federline has requested to change his custody arrangement with ex-wife Britney Spears after it was reported their 13-year old son got into an altercation with her father.

K-Fed’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, has already spoken out about the case. Evidently, an incident occurred during the evening of August 24th while Britney and Kevin’s boys, 13-year old son Sean Preston and 12-year old Jayden James, were visiting their mom at their maternal grandparents’ home. Evidently, the pop singer got into an argument with her father, Jamie Spears, which then prompted her eldest son to get involved.

“There was a disagreement that occurred while Britney and the children were visiting with Jamie at his home that led to a physical altercation that was observed by Jayden,” Kaplan told People. “Britney did the right thing and removed the children and took them out of there, but the trauma to the kids is nonetheless.”

The attorney went on to say that Jamie became physically aggressive with the pre-teen. The grandfather evidently “violently shook” Sean and also broke down a bedroom door trying to get to him. The following day, upon learning about the incident, Kevin reportedly took his son to file a police report and request an emergency protective.

Kaplan explained, however, the father and son decided not to go ahead “evidentiary hearing on the domestic violence order against Jamie.” Rather, Kevin’s legal team reached out to Britney’s lawyers in an attempt to work through things together. But on August 28th, Kevin and his lawyer filed a motion to change the parents’ previous 50/50 custody arrangement. Kaplan said the dad is seeking “closer to 90” percent custody of the kids, which he says has basically been their unofficially arrangement for “almost the last year.”

It turns out Britney also does not have unsupervised visits with her sons at the moment. “The custody remains supervised,” Kaplan added. “It was important to Kevin that regardless of this event that the kids still had continuing and meaningful contact with their mother.”

The drama between Britney’s son and her father comes after Jamie underwent medical treatment following a life-threatening colon rupture almost a year ago. In January, Britney announced she was taking an indefinite hiatus from work to focus on supporting her father through his health struggles. Shortly after, it was reported the star entered a treatment facility for mental health reasons, though some outlets alleged her father had pressured her into it. It remains unclear whether Britney has agreed to Kevin’s custody proposal or if she plans on fighting it.
