Kim Kardashian recently revealed that Kanye West and their daughter, 6-year old North, are having a huge fight- and it’s all over makeup!
The reality television couple have been criticized in the past for allowing their eldest child to wear makeup to red carpet events in the past. It appears Kanye has since developed a strong opinion against North rocking any sorts of cosmetics, and has even taken her makeup collection away, Kim recently admitted. But it doesn’t seem to be sitting well with the famous kiddo.
“North is trying to get in on the makeup, but she’s being blocked heavily because her dad has stopped all makeup for her until she is a teenager,” the mother-of-four told E! News earlier this week. But ultimately, she’s taking her husband’s side. “It’s a big discussion, a big fight in the household right now but it is what’s best.”
Kim went on, “I think as a parent you just learn and figure it out as you go and we realized we didn’t really want her to wear makeup at a young age but she sees her mom putting on lipstick and lip gloss.”
It was only last month that Kim revealed Kanye’s attitude towards makeup was changing. “I think he had it, he changed all the rules,” she said E! News at the time. “I’d let her wear, you know, she has a little red for Christmas, I’d let her wear a red lip, or I’d let her do one pop of something. I’d let her if she’s wearing a black dress, a black lip. Kylie [Jenner] would give her all of these lip kits, so I kind of got in trouble for that. So, it’s now no more makeup.”
Kim was referring to December of last year when she let then-5-year old North rock a bold red lipstick to their family’s annual Christmas bash. Many fans took to social media to express their criticism, with many pointing out a difference between kids playing with makeup at home and actually wearing it out.
One person tweeted, "Your daughter is how old? Why is she wearing lipstick? Sad.” Another wrote, "This red on a five-year-old old is tacky and takes away from their beauty.” However, in true Kardashian-fashion, Kim couldn’t help but respond to some of the critics. In a sassy tweet, she replied, "It just might be a new Classic Red Lip I have launch [sic] VERY soon.”
