Kirsten Dunst has a few things to say about the working mom versus stay-at-home mom debate that has managed to spark a lot of online debate in recent years. The Hollywood actress thinks that staying at home with children is much harder than going to work. In fact, the blonde beauty says that she’s so happy to be working again, as she couldn’t keep up with all of the demands back at home.

Dunst, who shares her baby boy Ennis Howard with fiancé Jesse Plemons, says she was relieved to get back on the set of her latest project, but to also give her adorable little tot to her mother-in-law to watch while she's at work everyday. Dunst made her comments during the Television Critics Association Summer 2019 Press Tour, where she helped promote her new Showtime series, On Becoming a God In Central Florida. Dunst says it’s not because she doesn’t like to stay at home, but rather because it’s so much work.

“I’m just tired all the time. Also doing the show too, it’s so much easier to go back to work than it is to be a stay at home mom,” Dunst told the press, according to People Magazine. “I was like, ‘bye’ to my mother-in-law [who watches her son while she’s at work]! I was like, [phew!]”

Dunst also says that being a mother has definitely made her more aware of the babies that were on set of the series. She admits that she was keener to be around or at least hold her smallest and youngest co-stars- or at least definitely more than she was in the past.

“I remember getting episodes and I would be like, ‘Where’s the baby? We have to have the baby in that scene or this scene. Krystal’s a single mom,’” she said. “That became apparent. You can’t forget the baby!”

While Dunst is happy to be back at work, she also said that she’s feeling very content with her new role as a mom. She and Plemons have been dating since they both met on the set of the TV series Fargo back in 2016. Plemons proposed to Dunst in 2017; however, the couple have not announced a date for their wedding. The actress has also been very careful not to reveal too many details about her baby boy, nor has she shared any photos of him on social media.

On Becoming a God In Central Florida premieres Aug. 25th at 10 PM ET on Showtime.
