Celebrity Lala Kent is opening up about how she felt “terrible” for eating gassy foods when she was breastfeeding her baby. Celebrities can almost seem more human when they share their journey in pregnancy and breastfeeding. Moms are able to see themselves reflected in the lives of people who seem to have everything. It can be reassuring to know that journeys can still be challenging even if you seem to have endless resources. Breastfeeding can be a wonderful journey, but it can also be challenging, and Lala Kent recently opened up about her struggles.

According to People, the Vanderpump Rules star gave birth to her daughter on March 15th, and her breastfeeding journey had some hiccups along the way that left her feeling incredibly guilty and remorseful, it was described as a “breastfeeding scare.”

Lala shared an Instagram story stating that her daughter, Ocean, had an upset stomach over the weekend. Lala blamed it on the vegan meal that she had recently eaten.

Breastfeeding is a unique relationship where mom may have to be a little more careful about what she eats, as it can transmit through breastmilk to the baby. Some babies react to coffee, some react to spicy foods, and in this case, vegan meals.

Lala stated that she knew that what food she eats could affect her milk, but she didn’t worry about it too much. When her daughter started showing signs of an upset stomach, she thought back to a recent vegan meal she had. It consisted of beans and cauliflower, two foods that are known for giving people gas.

She stated that her newborn daughter was screaming, crying, and fussing all day, from morning to night. She said that after the second feed, she clued into what the problem was and switched feeding methods.

For the rest of the day, she gave Ocean breastmilk that she had saved and fed her through a bottle. She also said that she experienced what a lot of moms can relate to and that is mom guilt. After she finally got Ocean to sleep, she broke into tears and was exhausted because she felt so bad. She felt that it was her fault that her daughter was in so much pain because she had done it to her.

She spent the day pumping her milk and hopes that she got all the “vegan” out. Experienced moms know that things like this can happen to everyone, and that it can be normal to feel guilty about it but that it means you are doing a great job.
