If there’s one couple that captured everyone’s hearts on Netflix’s smash reality hit Love Is Blind, it is Cameron Hamilton and Lauren Speed, who ended up falling in love and getting married without any of the drama that surrounded some of the other couples.

Now, a year and a half later, the couple will reappear on the show’s reunion episode to let viewers know how their whirlwind romance has continued to develop. Given that Cameron and Lauren have been making the rounds of the entertainment shows, it’s safe to say that all is still well with the two.

In a recent episode of Page Six’s podcast “We Hear,” Cameron revealed that his family was initially against his participation in the show. Meanwhile, Lauren’s dad was hesitant, but her mom was all in. “My mom was kind of excited because she was ready for me to be married. She was like, ‘Yes! Grandbabies maybe? Girl, go on there and find a husband.’ But my family definitely thought that it was odd,” Lauren said.

Although the series explored many of the intimate moments that the couples and their families shared, some scenes ended up on the cutting room floor. With Cameron and Lauren, the scene viewers never got a chance to see was when she met his parents. Contrary to fan speculation, the get-together went perfectly, and Cameron’s family welcomed Lauren with open arms.

“That’s such a pivotal moment in any couple’s relationship. It was a sweet moment — Mom and Lauren really bonded very quickly … Lauren’s dad came over soon after, and all of us got together and bonded over [the fact] that we were getting married and what that would mean for the future,” Cameron said.

Lauren added, “So many people were like … ‘Did you meet his parents? Did they not want to meet you?’ It’s like, ‘No! We met, and it was great — but that did not make it in the show.’”

The couple, who married in 2018 after the series was filmed, was forced to keep their relationship under wraps until the show aired. This meant not sharing any pictures of each other on social media or appearing in public together. The result is that if you look at their social media pages, you’ll see somewhat odd pictures of them alone in Mexico taken when they were already together.

The two currently live in Cameron’s house, which he describes as "our house now." They’ve also adopted a dog and are trying to start a family, so we just might see those ‘grandbabies’ sooner than later. "Yeah, we've been talking about it. I think our maternal instincts are kind of kicking in," Lauren told CNN.

Part of the success of their relationship has been their families’ support. “Well, it would be hard to (fake it) for a year and a half. You're talking about blending families," Lauren told CNN. "Like, my father was there and crying at my wedding. My mother, Cameron's parents. (Everyone is) happy and involved in it all.”

Although Lauren’s father initially had some reservations about the couple getting married, he has since embraced Cameron and even calls him son. "My dad comes over like every weekend -- we have dinner with Cam, we cook and play music," she says. "We have a good time. We wrestle fur baby, we laugh, we watch movies. Like, it's great, you know, good family fun that we enjoy. My dad loves him."
