Even though Liam Payne and Cheryl broke up last year, it sounds like the pop star is hoping to give their 2-year old son, Bear, a sibling soon. Sources say that Cheryl has begun the process of finding a donor in order to welcome her second child.
The singer has been vocal about wanting to have multiple children, and since her 36th birthday is approaching quickly, it sounds like she’s getting the ball rolling. A source says she’s more motivated than ever to begin.
“Turning 36 has got her thinking she needs to make a decision about baby number two,” the insider old Closer magazine. “She doesn’t want the age gap between Bear and his sibling to be too big, and she’d love to have a couple more kids before she’s 40.”
However, Cheryl may not only be looking for a sperm donor. The source went on to say she’s also considering using a surrogate since she “hated being pregnant” so much. “The fact that Cheryl is looking into surrogacy may shock her friends, but she is considering all of her options,” the source revealed. “She’s really broody and has been telling friends she wants to know more about surrogacy.”
Evidently, she’s also been relying on her good friend Khloe Kardashian for advice, who’s familiar with the surrogacy process since her big sister, Kim, had two of her kids via surrogate. “Cheryl opened up to Khloé, who suggested she explore surrogacy, like Kim,” the source revealed. “She ended up speaking to Kim about it, who offered to put her in touch with the agency she used.”
Just this past April, Cheryl spoke positively about sperm donorship and IVF, so it’s not surprising to hear that she’s seriously considering it for herself. "You don’t necessarily need to be in a relationship. I’ve got a friend who has had two children using donors. Not everything has to be conventional,” she told The Telegraph.
The former X Factor judge also added that she’s not planning on waiting around for a partner. "You can spend ages looking for the right man, waiting for the perfect time to get pregnant, then the right man might turn out to be the wrong man,” she explained, which could be a dig at her past relationship with Liam. She added, "There are definitely other routes I would consider.”
Cheryl’s only child, son Bear, was born in March of 2017. She and Liam had been dating for roughly about a year at the time, though they eventually parted ways in July of 2018. The couple’s relationship was controversial not only due to their 10-year age difference, but also because she met Liam when he was only a teen auditioning for the X Factor and she was a judge.
Nevertheless, the exes continue to remain on amicable terms as they raise their adorable little boy.
