Madonna happily celebrated her 61st year with her children at tour rehearsals. The pop icon is currently preparing for her Madame X tour, so what better way to celebrate her special day than with her crew and her loved ones. Usually, she keeps her children off of social media, so the snapshots we were able to get are a treat.
The artist has six children, and she always finds ways to make time for them. She has two biological children, Lourdes Maria Ciccone and Rocco—aged 22 and 18 respectively. Apart from the two, Madonna also has four adopted children from Malawi. The two sets of twins are David Banda and Mercy James, and Esther and Stella. The former pair is 13, and the latter is 6.
Madonna’s birthday celebration was documented on her Instagram page. The day was filled with dancing, chanting, and singing together. The rehearsal room was decorated with loads of red and white balloons with Xs on them—symbolizing her new tour and stage persona, Madame X. Her older twins showed off their dance moves in a video she captioned, “Birthday Dance.” The younger twins sported matching Madonna shirts for their mom’s birthday.
Last May, the pop legend shared a cute anecdote on how her kids comprehend her fame. Apparently, many people ask her kids if she is their mom and how it is to be her child. The older ones don’t really care about it because they just see her as their mom. The younger ones think the question is hilarious. In one instance, they asked her why people keep asking them if Madonna is their mom. In response to the fans, the twins replied that Madonna isn’t their mom; Madame X is.
In September, Madonna will start her newest tour, Madame X. She revealed the tour last June with a short promotional video that featured her and Diplo drinking margaritas and discussing the topic. The show is an intimate theatre tour that will feature her most recent album, Madame X. The singer chose to do a tour this way because she wants to have an intimate experience with her fans. What better way to do so than a bunch of theatre shows.
