When thinking about the future, it’s always a good idea to have a plan, and a backup plan, and a backup backup plan. Plans change, relationships end, and unexpected surprises come along the way. Since no one really knows what the future entails, it’s important to be prepared for anything.
When Dash Dolls actress and Khloe Kardashian's best friend Malika Haqq turned 35, she decided to freeze some of her eggs as a birthday present to herself. She wasn’t certain what her love life was going to be like in the future, so she wanted to make sure that she could have the option to make a baby later on. Fortunately, those eggs are still in the freezer because she recently explained on her web show Side By Side with her twin sister that she became pregnant “while in love”.
She excitedly and graciously announced her pregnancy in September on Instagram with the caption, “I didn’t know when, I just knew one day. God said it’s my turn, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the little spirit that grows inside of me. I am yours, baby, and you are mine.”
More recently, she let her followers know that she'll be having a boy. She did so by posing in a dark blue dress while promoting her favorite oil that helps prevent stretch marks. Haqq is due to have her baby boy in March of 2020.
Despite the announcement of her pregnancy, Haqq didn't announce the father of her baby right away. It was only a few weeks ago that reporters discovered that her ex-boyfriend- rapper O.T. Genasis- is the baby’s father. The two have had an on-off relationship for years, with their most recent break up taking place in June of this year. Haqq has told reporters that Genasis will be involved in the pregnancy and the baby’s life as long as he puts in the effort. She isn’t going to force him to be in the picture if he doesn’t want to. The two have been seen together in public, but are only seen being friendly to each other.
Whether Haqq and Genasis have more children together or not remains to be seen. But Haqq is still prepared for the future, what with her eggs being frozen. In the meantime, the world anxiously awaits the arrival of her little guy.
