Trigger: Mention of death.
The man in question is 51-year-old Ramanodge Unmathallegadoo, and he's been found guilty of murder after a lengthy trial. The victim was his ex-wife- 35-year-old Sana Muhammad- who was eight months pregnant at the time. The attack was said to be planned months in advance, most likely due to jealousy. Worse, Sana's current husband and their five children were present when she was attacked by her ex.
The attack originally took place back on November 12th, 2018 in London, England. According to police, Unmathallegadoo broke into the couple's backyard and hid inside a shed. He was armed with two loaded crossbows, a knife, duct tape, cable ties, and a hammer. It wasn't until 7:30 AM local time however when Sana's husband, Imtiaz, spotted and then chased Unmathallegadoo into the house. All the while, he urged his wife to run for her life.
Despite her best attempts, Unmathallegadoo was able to catch up to Sana at the stairs. He promptly fired an 18-inch-long bolt into her abdomen, which just barely missed her unborn baby. However, it still resulted in "catastrophic" internal injuries for the beloved mother and wife. Unmathallegadoo's own son was living at the home when the attack happened- and upon discovering what was going on, disarmed his father and held him until police arrived.
Sana was rushed to the hospital, where doctors performed an emergency C-section. Her baby boy was born not breathing but was able to be revived shortly after. It appears as though he's doing well. Sadly, the name cannot be said for Sana. The internal injuries she suffered to her heart, liver, and stomach caused a heart attack that killed her. Her official cause of death was said to be from complications arising from internal bleeding.
"She was my soul mate, my best friend, my wife, my companion and my everything and I love her dearly. Sana was a very family orientated woman who brought up our kids while I went to work. She had strong family values and believed children should be greeted by a parent and loved when they got home from school. We had our future together. We had a very strong bonding with all our kids. Ram has finished everything. We all feel lost now," Imtiaz said.
Unmathallegadoo now awaits sentencing, which is scheduled to take place on Friday, November 29th, 2019. Our thoughts are with Imtiaz, his five children and newborn baby, and the surviving extended family of Sana.
