Mandy Moore has found pure love in motherhood. As such, since February, the actress has been embracing her role as a new mom. And while she admits that every day is not always easy, Moore feels that her life is so much more fulfilling having a little one to call her own.

During a recent interview with Parents magazine, the This Is Us star spoke to how life has changed both personally and professionally since becoming a mom to her son, August, whom she and her husband, Taylor Goldsmith affectionately refer to as "Gus."

While Moore had always hoped that she would have the "opportunity to experience motherhood," until she met Goldsmith, she did not know if that journey was in the cards for her. However, just six months after dating, the two were discussing their future and having children. And it was then that the Silver Landings singer knew that one day she would be a mom.

However, according to the publication, the idea of motherhood and what motherhood truly ended up being were two very different things.

While Moore felt like she was well educated when it came to pregnancy, once Gus was born, the realization hit that she had "no idea what [she] was in for." Because of this, especially in the early days, there was a lot of learning to just "figure it out." And even now, eight months into parenthood, the Tangled star said that she and Goldsmith are still "flying by the seat of [their] pants."

Becoming a mother has made Moore feel like "life is Technicolor now." Suddenly, all that happens and the experiences that are had, "just make sense in a way that it didn't before."

And like most mothers who hear that motherhood is about feeling a love that has never been experienced before, the Candy singer told Parents that she had "no idea that this degree of love existed in the world."

For a mother who has a career that thrives on creativity, Moore knows that becoming a mom will have an impact on her career but that impact will be nothing but positive. This is because what she writes about as a musician and what she can "access" as an actor are infinitely different now. The mother-of-one has more layers to access and "a new color to bring to the table."

Even though Moore feels like she has a "handle on things" at the moment, she knows that can, and will, change in a blink of an eye when Gus moved onto a new phase of his life. But just like taking the little one to work with her when he was one month old, according to ET Canada, or more recently when Moore was cutting her new album, Moore is going to do her best to go with the flow.

After all, becoming a mother is not something that anyone is truly prepared for. But motherhood can provide life with bliss that nothing else can ever compare to. Something that Moore has come to know firsthand.
