Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were married back in May of 2018, and then announced that they were expecting a baby not long after. Markle gave birth to their son in May of this year, who they named Archie Mountbatten-Windsor. The Duchess has opened up previously about the struggles of becoming a new mother, and that she appreciates when people check in to see how she’s doing. It brought light to the fact that some women are more vulnerable and have a difficult time adjusting to motherhood.

The Duke and Duchess had only been married for less than six months before they announced the baby news to the public, which sparked excitement and joy across the globe. Many people have expressed their love for Markle, believing that she’s a lovely modern addition to the royal family. An official statement released when revealing the pregnancy stated, “Their royal highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world.”

Even though she gave birth to their first child a little over six months ago, there has been speculation that Markle was expecting another baby. However, according to US Magazine, the Duchess of Sussex has since shut that rumor down. An insider from Buckingham Palace has shared that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex aren't expecting to give their son a brother or sister just yet.

But that doesn’t mean that the couple isn't interested in expanding their family. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. The same insider shared that the Duke and Duchess are hoping to get pregnant again sometime next year. Perhaps they're wanting to wait until baby Archie gets a little bit older before adding another child into the mix.

Although a lot of the media coverage has been about the Duchess and baby Archie exclusively, Prince Harry and his son are said to have a special bond that not many know about. The palace insider went on to say that whenever the Duke of Sussex enters the room, his son lights up and gets very excited. While Archie hasn’t started talking just yet, the family believes he’s going to be a very intelligent boy when he grows up.

Hopefully, in the coming year, the palace will release another statement announcing that Meghan and Harry are expecting their second baby.
