A mom is getting real with how quadruplets changed her body by posting photos to her postpartum pics to social media. The mom-of-five welcomed miracle quadruplets into the world back in July, and while she knew her body would change after already experiencing one pregnancy, this time, she wanted to show the reality of how a woman’s body changes after growing not only one human, but four.

In July, Natalie Maree of Roebourne in Western Australia welcomed quadruplets naturally. She and her husband Kahn had struggled with fertility issues for years before they were blessed with four babies. Before welcoming daughter Kiki into the world in 2018, Natalie was diagnosed with anovulation or unexplained infertility. She had to inject hormones to help stimulate regular ovulation, according to Daily Mail. On September 9, five weeks after giving birth to quadruplets, Maree went to social media to talk about her postpartum body. She posted two photos of herself on Instagram: one with her shirt down, and the second with her shirt up, exposing her stomach. Maree tells her followers they should never judge a book by its cover. She says if she had only posted the photo with her shirt down, she would have received comments about looking great “for just having quads", and if she had only posted the shirt up photo, she believes she would have received comments like, “you should be so proud of what your body has done.”

Maree says there were parts of her that only wanted to post the photo of herself with her shirt down. However, there was the other part of her that wanted to be real to prevent a “false sense of reality” in the world of social media. The reality is that she grew four miracles in her belly. The second reality is that she feels beautiful in her first photo. She also says she is proud of what her body has done and what it can do. But, it would be a lie to herself and her followers if she told them that she loved the way her belly currently looks. Maree ended the post by telling her followers to “be kind.” When the couple first saw the ultrasound, they thought they were having twins because they only saw two sacs on the screen. Twins run in Maree’s family, so having two babies would not have been too much of a surprise.

Maree and Kahn welcomed Maioha Kahn, Frankee Gene, Marley Rose, and Maddison Grace on July 21. They were all born minutes apart, and join big sister Kiki who Maree says is very gentle with her tiny siblings.
