Blogger Anna Strode has been the subject of pregnancy shaming on social media following the announcement that she is expecting her fourth baby in four years.

Many of us have a figure in our heads when it comes to the number of children we envision having. Some people want a big family and to have four or five kids, some might only want one or two, while a great many people don't want any children at all. As long as you can provide for the number of children you have, there's nothing wrong with any of the options above.

That's why blogger Anna Strode was so taken aback at the criticism she has been receiving on social media. The Australian mom of three took to Instagram to reveal that she has a fourth baby on the way. However, after receiving a number of hurtful messages questioning the number of children she has, Strode has dialed back on the amount of time she spends on the platform.

When explaining to her followers why she hadn't been as active, Strode wrote, "over the past 7 months I have been criticised, judged and blatantly questioned why we have chosen to have another baby." The Aussie currently has three-year-old twin boys and an 18-month-old daughter.

The close proximity in which Strode has decided to have her children is what has prompted the pregnancy shaming on social media, something the blogger didn't realize existed. "I had absolutely no idea that 'pregnancy shaming' existed until, I announced we had baby #4 on the way," she wrote on one of her posts. The Melbourne native has also revealed that she always wanted four children, and always imagined that they would be close together in age.

As we outlined at the beginning of this story, if parents have the means and the ability to have a number of children, then that is their prerogative. Strode and her husband wanted to fill their home with children and that is what they are doing. As the Aussie has said in some of her posts, why those who have never even met her choose to criticize that is a little confusing.
