A Pennsylvania woman creates her door into a Cookie Monster for Halloween.
Halloween is just around the corner and we have been seeing a lot of creative decorating! Many parents love to decorate their homes with skeletons, pumpkins, ghosts and goblins! We thought we had seen it all until we came across a clever mother who turned her door into something we have never seen before! Lisa Boll from Pennsylvania wanted to make sure that her trick-or-treaters would be able to have a unique experience when they came to her home so she created a grand entrance with the help of a Sesame Street character. Boll used Styrofoam, vines and blue spray paint to create a Cookie Monster entrance.
As the trick-or-treaters walk up to her door they have to walk into the Cookie Monster's mouth in order to get their candy. Boll said that she has been a huge fan of the show, Sesame Street and she wanted to find a great way to help commemorate the popular children's television series considering it will be celebrating its 50th year. She felt like her Cookie Monster door was the perfect way to help show her love for the show.
The children get the opportunity to walk in the cookie monsters mouth. The character display starts on the ground and reaches as tall as their roof. Boll used vines and blue spray paint to create his iconic blue monster fur. She then used Styrofoam to construct his big eyes. Then she also had to put a cookie in his mouth so she created a cookie out of Styrofoam as well. Boll believes that this is going to be a huge hit. It has already brought a lot of attention. She said that it appeals to people of all ages because many of the adults grew up watching the show and it isn't going to scare any of the children. “It’s fun for Halloween and it’s not a horror thing, so it appeals to kids under the age of 3,” Boll explained. “It’s not scary.”
We are so happy that we came across this awesome door design. It is perfect for Halloween and the children and adults are going to love it! We just wish that we were able to go and see it in person!
