Breastfeeding is good for the environment and is also very good for mothers and babies. Women all over the world are sharing their breastfeeding stories this week for World Breastfeeding Week. Even celebrities who have chosen to breastfeed their babies are joining in.

If expectant mothers are not sure whether or not they want to breastfeed their babies, they should definitely consider all of the benefits that come from doing it. According to healthline.com, the milk a mother's body creates has a lot of nutritional benefits for infants. Many experts believe that women who choose to breastfeed should try to do so for at least the first six months after birth.

There are women who are unable to breastfeed their babies or who choose not to. Sometimes that is because they've had certain surgeries in the past, or because they're on medication that could keep them from being able to feed.

Additionally, some women choose to not feed because it proves to be too taxing and for other personal reasons. Fortunately, World Breastfeeding Week is an annual event that raises awareness for some of the problems that mothers face when they choose to breastfeed.

According to waba.org.my, this event usually begins on the first day of August and lasts for a week. The World Alliance For Breastfeeding Action (also known as WABA) started this campaign in 1992. There is a different theme each year.

According to who.int, the theme of this year's campaign is "supporting breastfeeding for a healthier planet." In honor of the week, mothers around the world are turning in photos of themselves breastfeeding to PicsArt, and sharing them to social media under the hashtag #treeoflife.

Mothers have been posting their creations on Instagram and Facebook, and the hashtag is trending. PicsArt is a website that allows users to edit photos as well as videos. PicsArt helped amplify the trend of normalizing breastfeeding a few years ago through the Tree of Life. There are even many celebrities who have used it for that purpose.

The trend has become very popular recently and has started important conversations surrounding breastfeeding. For the mothers interested in creating their own images to promote awareness and acceptance this week, PicsArt has created a tutorial that teaches how to do this specific type of pic on the PicsArt website.
