Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx already has four children, but now he is expecting a fifth at the age of 60.

Knowing when you are ready to have a baby is one of the hardest decisions you will ever have to make. Truth be told, there will always be reasons not to take the plunge. Work getting in the way, not sure if you have enough money, whether your partner is the right person to start a family with. Eventually, if you want children, you just have to go for it.

What isn't as much of a pressure as it used to be is age. Granted, women still have a biological clock that continues to tick, but more people are successfully becoming moms in their 40s and 50s than ever before. As for men, that biological clock never stops ticking, to an extent. However, there is a certain age where dads will likely be judged for bringing new life into the world.

If that age is 60, then Nikki Sixx definitely doesn't care what you think. The bassist, who rose to fame playing with iconic rock band Motley Crue, is set to become a father for the fifth time at 60 years old reports USA Today. The most shocking part of this news is Sixx had a vasectomy in 2007. At the time, Sixx said "I'm not going to live the rest of my life in court fighting over child support, so I don't ever want to do this again."

Clearly, Sixx's outlook has changed. Marrying his third wife, 33-year-old Courtney Bingham, seems to have done that. Even though Sixx already has four children, three in their 20s and a teenager, none of them are with Bingham. So, what about the vasectomy? Well, the rockstar underwent a sperm-retrieval procedure and then used artificial insemination to conceive. Sixx likened the procedure to being back with Motley Crue during their heyday, and not in a good way.

As mentioned above, Sixx will not have any qualms with people thinking he is too old to be a father again. He has already joked that he might "be on an IV drip by the time she's 20." Let's hope not, Nikki. Let the musician be an inspiration to any of you that think the time to be a parent has passed you by. If you are biologically and medically fit to do so, then it is never too late to be a parent.
