Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger may have only gotten married a few days ago, but according to sources, the newlyweds are hoping to expand their family as soon as possible.
Chris and Katherine dated for less than a year before they tied the knot this past Sunday in an intimate ceremony at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California. According to People, the couple were talking about having kids early on in their relationship. “He was very clear with his intentions from the start, and she has never felt so loved and safe,” a source told the publication. “They both feel so blessed to have found each other, and they can’t wait to expand their family as soon as possible.”
If the couple does, in fact, get pregnant, this will be the first child for Katherine, who’s ten years younger than her new hubby. 39-year old Chris, on the other hand, is already a father-of-one. He shares 6-year old son Jack with his ex-wife, actress Anna Faris, who he was married to from 2009 to 2018. At the time of their divorce, several sources suggested the couple split because they couldn’t decide on whether to expand their family.
In 2017, a source told TMZ that Anna wanted more children whereas Chris wanted to focus on his bustling career. “[He] can't juggle a growing family with his career,” the insider explained. They continued, '[There] were other personal reasons for the split, but the way they see family in the long-term was a big factor in their decision.”
Despite Anna and Chris’ shocking split, the two celebrities have been committed co-parenting their son and seem to be on great terms. Anna even congratulated Chris when she found out about his engagement to Katherine. "I'm so happy for you both!! Congratulations!" she wrote in the comments of her ex-husband’s photo in which he announced the good news.
Katherine is evidently very close to her new step-son. According to sources, Chris’ relationship with Jack was one of the reasons she felt for the actor so quickly. “Katherine never minded that her dates with Chris many times involved a kid activity,” an insider told People of their child-friendly dates. “Katherine is like a big kid and loves doing activities with Jack. She loves that Chris is a dad.”
Given how much Katherine loves being a step-mom, it’s not surprising to hear that she and Chris are looking forward to children of their own. Since it sounds like the newlyweds are already trying to expand their family, we won’t be surprised if they make a pregnancy announcement before the end of the year!
