Nick Cannon is showing just how easy co-parenting with an ex can be!

Although many exes with kids would beg to differ, Nick and ex Mariah Carey have co-parenting all figured out. The former America’s Got Talent host, who wed legendary singer Mariah Carey in 2008, is revealing his secrets behind co-parenting their 6-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe.

The couple filed for divorce in 2016, but their split isn’t causing any issues when it comes to their children. The 37-year-old star told US Weekly, “the common denominator is we both want what’s best for our children.”

He continued by stating that the key to co-parenting is not only putting the children first, but also taking a step back and becoming selfless. Some divorced or separated couples will cease communication after a split, but Nick and Mariah have kept it cool and remain quite close.

The former couple spend their children’s birthdays and holidays together, proving that being in the same room with an ex doesn’t have to be awkward or uncomfortable. When Nick was asked about Mariah and their relationship, he described her as his “homegirl” and how “she can do no wrong in my book.”

Nick not only has his hands full with his twins, he also shares an 11-month-old son with Brittany Bell. Mariah didn’t mind in the slightest, considering she was engaged to Australian billionaire James Packer at the time.

Nick believes being a father is the “greatest blessing and greatest responsibility that can ever be bestowed on you,” and he has nothing but love for his three children. The five-time Grammy winner (who is now dating her dancer turned creative director Bryan Tanaka), is also down to keep it real with ex Nick and keep the children as their number one priority.

The ex-couple seem to be doing just fine when it comes to their two kids. And although Nick may not be Mariah’s current ‘Dreamlover’, we’re glad the two can still kick back and be the Nick and Mariah we fell in love with.
