Nicki Minaj sent fans into a frenzy when she posted a video to social media recently in which she appears to be teasing a baby bump. In the video, the rapper and her boyfriend Kenneth Petty were showing off some serious PDA.
Although the video was supposed to promote the singer’s midnight release of her new single “Megatron,” that’s not what has people talking. What caught the attention of fans was how Petty was sweetly rubbing her stomach… over and over again.
Needless to say, fans went wild on social media and began questioning what the suggestive video could mean. Some took the lovey-dovey video as confirmation that the “Megatron” singer and her beau are expecting. At the very least, the couple seemed to be making some sort of statement (like maybe they’re trying for baby no. 1?).
This isn’t the first time in recent months that Minaj has spurred baby rumours. During her last public appearance at the 2019 MET Gala, many viewers swore they could see a burgeoning baby bump. The musician rocked a pink puffer dress that puffed out in the mid-section, leaving it unclear if it was a bump or just the cut of the dress. Given that Minaj never addressed the baby buzz, many fans assumed it was simply a wardrobe faux pas. However, with the release of this newest video, the rumours have started back up again.
If one thing is for sure, it’s that Minaj and Petty are definitely getting serious, so babies may not be too far off for them Just a few days ago, Minaj revealed she and her man had already applied for a marriage license. The two have been dating for less than a year, after going public with their romance last December.
“We did get our marriage license,” the 36-year old explained during an appearance on the Queen Radio show Apple Beats 1. “I think I have what I was striving for, just happiness. It was so hard to get to a happy place. Now that I’m there, I don’t want to compromise that for anyone or anything.”
However, Minaj’s relationship has not been without controversy. When the two first confirmed their relationship, they received backlash for Petty’s previous criminal convictions. Petty has served timed behind bars for manslaughter and is also a registered sex offender in New York.
Nevertheless, Minaj has defended her man for his past. A few months ago, she wrote via Instagram that he previously got in trouble for having a consensual relationship with a minor when he was still a teen. “He was 15, she was 16 … in a relationship,” she wrote. “But go awf Internet. Y’all can’t run my life. Y’all can’t even run y’all own life. Thank you boo.”
