A Japanese baby with an amazing head of hair has become an overnight sensation on Instagram. Chanco, who is only sixteen months old, already has nearly 400,000 followers on the social media site thanks to her mind-boggling mop.

Her family, who set up her Instagram account, @babychanco, hoped to start a “hair diary” so others could enjoy watching the baby and her hair grow. Her mother, Mami, says that she’s been overwhelmed with the response, despite the fact that she realizes that her daughter’s head of hair is astonishing.

“When she was born, she came out with a LOT of hair,” Mami says. “We just wanted to document it since we thought it [would] be fun.” Chanco has been trending as #hairgoals on Instagram with users writing, “OH MY GOSH! I can’t believe how much hair this child has! I LOVE IT!”, and “Can I have her as my baby?!”

The young girl, who turned one on December 23, has even caught the eye of Pantene after social media users said she deserved her own ad. Alex Keith, President of Global Hair Care & Beauty Sector at P&G, couldn’t agree more. “We went straight to her mother because Chanco’s personality and special character match our image for women we want to support,” Yoshiaki Okura, P&G Japan Hair Care Associate Brand Director, told PEOPLE.

In January, Baby Chanco made her official Pantene debut together with Japanese television host, Sato Kondo, who has been praised in Japan for keeping her gray hair natural. The ad focuses on women who “want to be positive and make a new start through their hair,” Okura said.

According to Okura, Chanco’s beautiful head of hair is an inspiration to others thanks to her mother’s messages of positivity on Instagram. In addition to her Pantene Japan ad, Chanco has also starred in a digital movie titled The Hairy Tale. For now, Mami has no plans to cut her daughter’s hair, though she will try braids when she gets older. She added that the secret to caring for Chanco’s hair is to brush it often.

Although no one knows how Chanco will feel about being a hair model when she grows up, her parents are just happy to make others happy for now. “We hope people can enjoy seeing both her and her hair grow,” Mami said.

While some babies are born bald, others may arrive with a full head of hair. Regardless of the amount of hair they have, most newborns will shed most of their hair in the first six months. Experts believe hair loss is due to plunging pregnancy hormones, which may also give pregnant women and new mothers great hair. New hair growth will soon follow, though the hair can change in color and texture. Some babies have a new head of hair by six months, while others may have to wait two or three years.
