Oprah Winfrey Gives Mindy Kaling The Most Thoughtful Baby Gifts Ever

Oprah Winfrey gave Mindy Kaling the most extravagant baby gift!

Oprah Winfrey has set the bar incredibly high for gift giving, from cars to her favorite things, and now she is even killing it with baby gifts. Mindy Kaling, who gave birth in December 2017 to a baby girl, Katherine Kaling, just confirmed that Oprah is the best friend ever and we aren’t even the slightest bit surprised!

The Mindy Project creator and star has posted several photos of the countless gifts she has received since giving birth. Gifts for baby Katherine have included mini replicas of Mindy, sweet baby-sized Adidas tracksuits, and a stroller from fashion designer, Jeremy Scott.

As amazing as all these gifts come across, it’s Oprah Winfrey who takes the cake for best gift giver ever. Mindy spoke with USA Today about getting a call from Oprah’s assistant saying to expect a gift from the ex-talk show host, and she imagined it would just be a nice bouquet of flowers. However, she was wrong. Very, very wrong.

Mindy continued by saying that she was told, “Two men are going to be coming to your house with a U-Haul truck.” We think Mindy knew very well at this point she was going to be receiving more than a pretty flower arrangement. Mindy finally let us in on what was being delivered.

“They arrived with a hand-carved bookcase, prettier than any professional dollhouse you had ever seen that contains a hundred of the classic essential books in children’s literature,” Kaling said. “And I held my baby up to it and I said, ‘Did you see what Miss Winfrey did for you?”

As incredibly thoughtful that was for Oprah to do, the giving didn’t stop there. Oprah also ensured that each book would be individually signed with “Katherine’s Book Club” written on it. It goes without saying that Oprah is not to be toyed with when it comes to gift giving. The two gal pals are starring with one another in the newest Disney filmed A Wrinkle In Time, which is set to hit theaters on March 8, 2018.
