Game of Thrones came on HBO from 2011 to 2019. Based on a series of fantasy novels by George R. R. Martin, it became one of the most popular and successful TV shows of all time. While the exciting drama, intriguing characters and unique setting all appealed to fans, the stars of the story did, as well; these actors are now known around the world, and many have gone on to appear in other beloved works.

11 Peter Dinklage

Peter Dinklage was a main character on this show, Tyrion Lannister, and he won a record amount of awards for this role. He also married a theater director named Erica Schmidt in 2005.

They had a daughter in 2011, as well as a second child in 2017. The gender of their second child has not been revealed to the world, and neither of the kids’ names were shared either. Still, he has been spotted several times with his firstborn.

10 Lena Headey

On this show, Lena Headey played Cersei Lannister. In real life, she married Peter Loughran, musician, in 2007. Together, they had a son named Wylie in 2010, and then they separated in 2011, followed by a divorce.

In 2015, a daughter, Teddy, was welcomed into the world by Headey and Dan Cadan, a childhood friend and a director who had worked with Headey on The Devil's Wedding. These two separated last year. But look how cute her style has been, from pregnancy and beyond!

9 Nikolaj Coster-Waldau

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau was Jaime Lannister, and he has been married to a Greenlandic actress and singer, Nukâka, since 1997. Together, this couple has two daughters and two dogs.

His children seem to be following in his footsteps, too: Filippa (his youngest) was in a Danish short film titled The Girl and the Dogs, and Safina (his oldest) had the starring role in a Danish Christmas-themed TV show called Theo og Den Magiske Talisman.

8 Sean Bean

Sean Bean was in the first season of GOT as Lord Eddard Stark. Bean has also been wed five times and divorced four times.

There was his high school sweetheart, Debra James, from 1981 to 1988. There was Melanie Hill, with whom he had two daughters (born in 1987 and 1991), from in 1990 to 1997. There was actress Abigail Cruttenden, with whom he had a daughter (born in 1998), from 1997 to 2000. There was actress Georgina Sutcliffe from 2008 to 2010. And there was Ashley Moore from 2017 to present. He has four grandchildren, too.

7 Iain Glen

Ser Jorah Mormont was portrayed by Iain Glen, and this actor is also known for his work in three of the Resident Evil flicks, Downton Abbey and Titans.

As far as his personal life goes, he was married to Susannah Harker from 1993 to 2004, and they had a son, Finlay, in 1994. His current partner (since 2005) is Charlotte Emmerson, and they have two daughters; Mary was born in 2007, and Juliet was born in 2012.

6 Jason Momoa

Before Jason Momoa started being featured in superhero movies as Aquaman, he was on this show, too, as Khal Drogo.

Outside of acting, he tied the knot with Lisa Bonet, an actress best known for playing Denise Huxtable on The Cosby Show, in 2017. In 2007, they had a daughter, followed by a son the following year. Through this marriage, Momoa is also a step-father to Zoë Kravitz, whose parents are Bonet and Lenny Kravitz.

5 Alfie Allen

Alfie Allen portrayed a character named Theon Greyjoy on Game of Thrones, which made him known around the world. However, he was already related to some famous people: His older sister is singer Lily Allen, and his third cousin is singer Sam Smith!

He is a father, as well, to a daughter named Arrow, who was born in 2018. He welcomed this child into the world with Allie Teilz, a DJ and model he was with from 2017 to 2019.

4 Carice van Houten

Melisandre was played by actress Carice van Houten, who is in a relationship with Guy Pearce, an actor who has been in films like The Count of Monte Cristo, The Road, The King's Speech, Prometheus and Iron Man 3.

In 2016, this couple had a son named Monte. As this photo shows, van Houten is a bit nicer than her GOT character could be, as she is snuggling her kiddo and soaking up motherhood.

3 Liam Cunningham

Up next is Liam Cunningham, an Irish stage and screen actor who was Davos Seaworth in this television series. He lives in Dublin with his wife, Colette, and their three children: a daughter named Ellen and two sons named Liam Jr. and Sean.

2 Aidan Gillen

As the end of this list draws near, know that Aidan Gillen, who played Petyr "Littlefinger" Baelish, is another actor with a softer and sweeter side than his character ever had.

He was with Olivia O'Flanagan from 2001 to 2014, and together, they had two children: a daughter, Berry, who was born in 1997, and a son, Joe, who was born in 2000. Now, he is with singer Camille O'Sullivan.

1 Sophie Jonas
