In a column from Waitrose, Middleton explained her own fitness journey, and how she adapted some of her exercises while she was pregnant. Pippa revealed that she was initially used to working out about 4 to 5 times per week, but she changed up her routine during her first trimester. Instead, Middleton opted for exercising for 45 minutes, approximately three to four times a week. Pippa always expressed that she would base her workout intensity on her energy levels of the day, and made sure to go lighter at times. On her off days, Middleton shared that she would also take group fitness classes like barre, pilates, yoga or general strength workouts. Although Pippa was used to running before, she decided to forgo hitting the pavement, and chose to complete other exercises like cycling, or walking with some weights. In general, expectant mothers are encouraged to consult with their primary care physician before starting a new exercise routine.
