City Girls rapper Yung Miami, who is currently pregnant with her second child, is luckily unharmed after being the target of a hit-and-run.
The musician had been exiting Circle House Studios in Miami when the incident took place, TMZ reports. Miami had already gotten into her red Mercedes G-Wagon when a driver passing by opened fire on her vehicle. Miami later told authorities that she heard shots coming behind her.
The bullets- there were reportedly 14 in total- allegedly came from a nearby vehicle that had its lights off. Though a bullet brushed the spare tire of her vehicle, the rapper otherwise remained unharmed. Authorities are continuing to investigate the shooting, though there are no known suspects at the time.
The Instagram account ‘The Neighbourhood Talk’ posted footage from the scene of the crime, which they obtained by an onlooker who had been present. The witness says Miami was able to dodge all the bullets and run to safety before police arrived.
“Caresha new G Wagon was shot at leaving Circle House…YALL need to give her better security! Poor baby was running across the street tryna run b4 police came. Smh wow prayers for her and baby 808’s protection,” the caption of the video read.
Miami only revealed her pregnancy this past June, although she has yet to reveal exactly how far along she is. “I’ve been going back and forth to share this moment with my fans,” she wrote on social media during her reveal. “But on MY TERMS! I want this journey to be nothing but positive going forward and I wanted to share this with y’all."
The rapper’s pregnancy hasn’t been without controversy, however. Only last week, fellow rapper Kodak Black made lewd comments in a freestyle rap about her pregnancy while behind bars. There’s been bad blood between the former lovers after Kodak allegedly proposed, though Miami turned him down.
"I bought Yung Miami a ring, she wanted 808 baby,” Kodak rapped. “When I see her I'ma hit […] [her] in her stomach. The way I keep my [stuff] too real, they say I'm [messing] up my money." 808 is a reference to 808 Mafia producer Southside, who happens to be the father of Miami’s unborn baby. It’s unclear if the drive-by shooting has anything to do with Miami’s love triangle.
Miami, whose real name is Caresha Brownlee, is best known as one half of the hip-hop duo City Girls, which also includes JT. The two grew up together in Miami before beginning their rapping career in their late teens. JT Is currently behind bars related to credit card fraud and has been since June of 2018.
