19Biologically, This Shouldn't Be Possible
Superfetation is a process some women go through where their body releases a second egg a few weeks into her pregnancy. When that egg becomes fertilized, is results in her having a second baby a few weeks apart from the first.
This process is so rare that it typically only happens
in animals such as bunny rabbits. According to babycenter.com, biologically speaking, this should not happen.
"Pregnancy hormones usually shut down a woman's system, making it impossible for her to ovulate during her pregnancy," says Connie Hedmark, an obstetrician at Marquette General Hospital in Michigan. "This is why superfetation is so remarkable."
