Pretty Little Liars star Shay Mitchell, who revealed her pregnancy news with boyfriend Matte Babel this June, welcomed her first child a baby girl- on October 20. It’s a beautiful moment for the duo and they shared their updates on Instagram with some cute pictures.
Shay Mitchell, 32, became a mom months after announcing that she was “preggers" online with a sweet caption, “Never letting go…” The baby announcement photo Shay posted featured her holding the tiny hands of her daughter. The baby's name and her face has yet to be revealed; we can only see the baby wearing a cute pink-and-white striped sleeper.
In the video where she announced her pregnancy (with a topless photoshoot, no doubt) Shay jokingly titled it as “Guess who’s preggers?” The video description read, "There is something in the oven, and it's not my pizza!!!"
The Canadian actress was 6-months pregnant when she made the announcement, writing, "WOW… It's kind of surreal processing the fact that another human is growing inside of you. It's exciting, nerve-racking, difficult, and emotional all at the same time. Everyone waits for the right time to make the announcement and for me it wasn't until I couldn't hide it anymore and was tired of wearing oversized sweatshirts."
She also showed a glimpse of her boyfriend, Matte, an Entertainment Tonight Canada correspondent. Following the announcement, the couple shared their journey into parenthood through Shay’s YouTube series, Almost Ready. It was accompanied with an Instagram post, “Does this mean I’m allowed to drive in the carpool lane at all times now?”
Shay's pregnancy was kept a secret until the second trimester, primarily because of her prior miscarriage in 2018. Even this time, she experienced an “overdue" pregnancy, which she documented on social media. “I’m officially overdue and trying everything…. dancing, extra spicy Prince Street pizza, turmeric ice cream (although Matte seems to be having more of it than I do). Been pregnant for way too long," she captioned a post.
The couple is famous for giving a tweak to any challenge that life throws at them, and they never stop surprising us. The way they revealed their child's sex with help from the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers is something to watch. The video feature two people – one dressed in pink and the other in blue. While they both battled, the expecting parents watched, amazed! While fighting, both the Rangers fell into the pool, and the pink Ranger emerged victoriously. She then tried to sit on Matte’s lap, which further confused him; eventually, they realized that they were expecting a girl!
Shay’s baby shower was unique too, as all guests wore pink dresses — and took a trip to see the Magic Men Live! Strip show in Hollywood, California. While fanning herself, Shay chirped, “Oh my God. I’m going into labor!”
The model has told People that she isn't planning any maternity leave, and she loves her work. For the time being, let’s congratulate the parents who are finally blessed with their baby girl.
