Most Pretty Little Liars fans will recognize actress Tammin Sursok as Jenna Marshall from the hit teen drama. But at home, she’s better known by her two daughters simply as ‘mom.’ Recently, the celebrity got candid about her difficult road to becoming a mother-of-two.

During an appearance on The Today Show, the Australian actress admitted she took for granted how easily it was to get pregnancy with her first child, daughter Phoenix. Not only did she and her husband, director Sean McEwen, conceive almost immediately after they started trying, she says the pregnancy went off without a hitch.

Tammin went on to discuss her second pregnancy. She says that although she got pregnant just as quickly, things unfortunately didn’t go as planned. "When we decided to have a second child, I got pregnant really fast again - and we lost that baby in the doctor's office,” she explained. The star added that she was quite far along in her pregnancy, although she declined to give the specific amount of weeks.

To make matters even more heartbreaking, she said she then had a second miscarriage before welcoming her second child. "But they're so common, and we don't talk about it. And then I had another miscarriage before Lennon, so two back to back,” Tammin revealed.

However, the star said that she’s hoping her openeness about her infertility struggles and miscarriages will help reduce the taboo around the subject. Moreover, she wants to let fellow women know that they’re not the only ones going through such issues. "Women don't speak about the things that they're going through. We feel so isolated and feel so alone,” the PLL alum explained.

The mother-of-two went on to discuss how parenthood has changed her relationship with her husband. She admits that they find it difficult to find the time to do things one-on-one, and even when they do get an opportunity, they’re usually too tired. "Our first date night was three weeks after the baby was born, and he fell asleep at the table,” Tammin revealed.

However, with that being said, Tammin also added that their road to parenthood has only made their relationship stronger. She explained she heavily relied on her partner during her miscarriage experience, but now it sounds like they’re better than ever. “At the end of the day, we love each other so much and respect each other so much - and we have each other's back,” she said. “And if you have that, you can traverse the waters when you bring another human into the world."
