Even though Prince Harry has always hinted that he would love to have a big royal family of his own, it looks like he might have recently had a change of heart.
As a matter of fact, the prince stated that he only wants to have two children in his life, and that’s it. Harry and his wife Meghan Markle just welcomed their son, Archie Harrison, back in May.
While speaking to Dr. Jane Goodall for a special interview that he conducted for the September issue of British Vogue, the two talked about having a child makes you think a little differently about the environment and the world that surrounds you. That’s when the Duke of Sussex said that he and his wife only plan on adding one more child to their royal family.
“Two, maximum!” Prince Harry said, according to ABC News. “But I’ve always thought: this place is borrowed. And, surely, being as intelligent as we all are, or as evolved as we all are supposed to be, we should be able to leave something better behind for the next generation.”
The statement caught a lot of royal fans by surprise as Prince Harry has been the one member of the monarchy that has always had a special connection with small kids and babies. He’s managed to delight his fans for years each time he was either photographed or filmed playing and goofing around with children during his public appearances and royal engagements. In fact, many people have even called it one of Prince Harry’s best qualities.
Now as far as what made Harry change his mind about the number of children he and Meghan Markle want, no one knows. The prince didn’t provide a further explanation nor did he share any details about their family plans.
With that said, there’s already speculation that Harry’s brother Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton might be looking to add a fourth child to their own clan. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are already parents to their three children: Prince George, 6, Princess Charlotte, 4, and 1-year-old Prince Louis.
So far William and Kate haven’t made any comments of their own, but some fans are even better that the Duchess of Cambridge will get pregnant again by the end of the year.
