Chloe Kennedy welcomed a new baby girl into her life despite her accident that left her quadriplegic. Her life changed drastically after a trip to Italy and has changed even more now that she’s a mother. She has gone through a rollercoaster of emotions ever since her holiday to Italy began.

Kennedy was on vacation in Italy with her mom, and she loved it so much that she decided to live there for a whole year. Her local barista, Antonello Vigna, was helping her improve her language skills, and after daily conversations, the two quickly fell in love. As Kennedy’s year-long holiday was coming to a close, she decided to go out with a bang: see the Aurora Borealis and ski the Dolomites.

The icy mountains proved to be quite the obstacle for the adventurers. The next thing she knew is that she was in a hospital and people were telling her of a terrible accident. After eight days in a coma and four surgeries, Kennedy woke up and was scheduled to be brought home via a Medijet. The accident left her quadriplegic, and she spent almost a year in a hospital undergoing intensive rehab. After 16 months, she was finally able to do things like walk with a frame support, but she was still unable to get up from her chair alone.

Miraculously, four years after they met, Kennedy and Vigna were greeted with happy news: she was pregnant. Understandably, the pregnancy concerned her, as there were chances for complications due to her condition. After nine months, she was prepped for a caesarian section, and her baby was born into the world. They named her “Aurora” after the unfulfilled dream to see the lights due to her accident. Turns out, her daughter was the light that she kept trying to see.

While she’ll need more help than the average mom, Kennedy is excited to begin her new life as a mother. The journey may be difficult, but it is sure to be ever-rewarding. All throughout this transition, Vigna will be there with her, just as he was years ago when he was helping her with her Italian.
