Rachel McAdams is expecting!
The Canadian actress who rose to fame in Mean Girls and The Notebook is reportedly pregnant with her first child, according to E! Online.
McAdams, 39, is famously reserved and private when it comes to her personal life. Although set to appear in the upcoming comedy Game Night with Jason Bateman, Kyle Chandler, and Michael C. Hall, McAdams was nowhere to be seen during the movie’s premiere at TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood, California.
The last we’ve seen of McAdams was at a Toronto airport wearing a baggy jacket, so it’s impossible to know how far along she is. The Oscar-nominated actress has yet to confirm any details regarding the pregnancy or who is the father.
However, smart money is on screenwriter Jamie Linden. The two were seen holding hands in the summer of 2016, and are still rumored to be seeing each other. However, neither of them have many any announcements nor have they walked down the red carpet together to announce their pairing.
McAdams has said a few times in interviews that she’d be open to the idea of children. "Having a few [kids] would be great," she said to People in 2009. Later in the interview, she added, "My mom is a great inspiration to me... She's a nurse and very nurturing and gentle. She lets me be who I am. Hopefully I can take on those qualities and be as great as her."
Later in 2010 McAdams told InStyle that “part of me is very attached to the idea of having children,” and then added, “It’ll depend on if I find the person I want to do that with.”
Finally, in an interview with Marie Claire in 2015, McAdams again said she wanted to have kids "at some point", but the time wasn’t quite right.
Well, now it looks like the time is right! No telling when she’ll be due, but be sure to tune back in once we know more.
