This Real Housewives alumnus is now a mom!
There are new reports that say former Real Housewives of Orange County star Gretchen Rossi is now the proud mother of a beautiful little baby girl. She welcomed her first child with her long-time partner Slade Smiley this past week.
According to E! Online, Rossi and Slade made their joyful announcement on Instagram for their fans. They named the little girl Skylar Gray, and according to the new mom, everyone is both happy and healthy. While she didn’t share a photo of the newborn baby just yet, she did post a throwback of her baby bump along with a very special message for her fans and followers.
Starting off by saying how grateful she is for everything in her life, she wrote, “Skylar Gray Smiley arrived safely into this world today! Most amazing & emotional day of my life! I am doing good as well, of course, I have some pain from the c-section, but it was all so worth it!”
Rossi also explained that more details and pics of her new bundle of joy will come soon, but not right away. That’s because she and Smiley simply want to relax and focus on their newborn baby while also taking good care of her. Nonetheless, she did thank everyone for their continued support and love and all of the prayers she received throughout her pregnancy journey.
Hours before she gave birth, however, Rossi did reveal that she was dealing with some last-minute delivery complications, despite the fact that she posted a video of herself sporting a full face of makeup. The reality television star explained that after weighing all of the pros and cons, she and Smiley decided it would be best for her to deliver their daughter via C-section, even though that wasn’t her first choice or what she had in mind.
Rossi said in her clip, “Doctor said I am only dilated 1cm and I guess I have a 'cervix of steel' so it's not really cooperating at this point and just my pelvic exam yesterday was so beyond painful that I almost passed out, then started to hyperventilate because of that, which then lead to a panic attack! Needless to say I was a hot mess!"
The blonde beauty also explained that while this wasn’t her version of how she wanted her labor and delivery to go, she is thankful that everything went without a hitch, despite her internal struggle.
Rossi added that after doing a little praying, she realized that this was a sign from above and that it was the best decision in the end. Rossi and Smiley first announced their pregnancy back in December during an episode of The Doctors.
