While there might not be a lot of reality television stars who like to admit their struggles, Gretchen Rossi is telling it like it is. The former Real Housewives of Orange County star admits that she gained 50 pounds during her pregnancy with her newborn daughter, Skylar Grey. This is the first child for the reality star and her partner, Slade Smiley.

According to Us Weekly, the beautiful blonde says that she’s already lost half her weight in less than three weeks after she gave birth. Rossi has not only been documenting her pregnancy journey on social media for her fans, but also updating them with her postpartum weight loss success.

Rossi says that she went into labor and delivery at 170 pounds and that she’s now down to 145. The 40-year-old made the revelation during one of her Instagram stories this past week. She also says that she hasn’t even been trying and that she hasn’t been dieting either. Instead, the weight is apparently coming off from just breastfeeding.

Rossi also credits her mom for providing delicious, homecooked meals for her and her husband. She told her fans, “I’m on no diet. I’ve been eating more than when I was pregnant so go figure, but I guess breast-feeding requires a lot of calories all the time. My mom is cooking all of these home-cooked meals.”

If that weren’t enough, Rossi also shared photos of her midsection and says that she was pretty surprised to see how quickly she’s managed to get back to her normal shape. She also added that her regular weight is around 120 pounds.

The former reality star added, “I was pretty surprised at how quickly my actual stomach went down, but I definitely have a lot going on still. I’m not allowed to start working out or do anything with that until six weeks. … I’m pretty amazed about how amazing the body is. It can grow a little baby and go back like that. It’s just crazy what happens.”

Right after Rossi gave birth, she updated her fans and said that while she was disappointed that she had to have a C-section, both she and Skyler are happy and healthy. Rossi decided to have the procedure after having a painful pelvic exam. Even though it was a difficult decision to make, both she and her doctor agreed that it would be the best route for her and her daughter.

For now, Rossi is enjoying all of the quality time she can get with her newborn daughter and husband at home. Congratulations to the new parents!
