I was 8 months pregnant with my first little perfect baby boy. He was healthy, fat, and I was so excited. One evening we were driving through the traffic filled Portland and we were crossing the bridge on I-5. A car flew in front of us and then slammed on his breaks. My husband slammed on his breaks and the car behind us quickly changed lanes. He was going at least 60 mph and we are so blessed that he barely dodged our car. The accident would not have been our fault but that would have been the least of our worries. If that man would have hit us there is no doubt in my mind that we would have lost our son, who is now a healthy 5-year-old boy. That moment flashes in my mind over-and-over.

With every pregnancy I was kind of terrified to ride in the car because seat belts are not made to protect our little ones in our tummies. Seat belts are made to protect us, the mother. I am so blessed that I have never had an incident where I lost my baby due to a crash, but that is sadly not the case for many women. I have found some products on the market that were created to keep the baby safe such as the Huduefly Bump Belt and the LA Saver Seat Belt Adjuster. However, nothing seemed to compare to the Safe Ride 4 Kids Tummy Shield.

The Tummy Shield is a seat that you place on the seat of your car. The seat belt will hook in-between your legs. If you get into an accident then the pressure will go on your legs instead of your belly. The Tummy Shield is the "Only maternity seat belt positioner that is strength tested and crash tested to ensure it will withstand crash energy and the seat belt will still work as intended."

I am not pregnant right now nor do I ever plan to be pregnant again. However, a lot of my friends are pregnant and I knew that this was a product that they should have! So to help me show off this awesome Tummy Shield I have asked my friend Hannah to help! Hannah is nine-months pregnant with her second little girl! And can we please just talk about how stinken cute she looks! Anyways, check out the video below! Hannah said, "It is SO comfortable! I actually told my sister that I wish I had it for longer because it would have helped my hips so much!" She then went on to say, "It was so much more comfortable with the seatbelt placement too. The seatbelt is awkward because it doesn’t really fit against your belly when it gets big."

We worry so much about our child's health and safety when they are here with us that we sometimes forget about protecting them when they are still in the womb. Babies are actually very vulnerable to getting injured while in the car even though they seem like they are safe in mom's stomach. It is so important for women to protect their babies and get a shield, or a special seat belt while they are pregnant. Protect your unborn child!
