Prince William and Kate Middleton might both be the future King and Queen of England, but each and every time they step out in public with their kids, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, they always steal the spotlight.

This past week the two young members of the royal family managed to make headlines for adorably cheering on their parents during The King’s Cup regatta. Unfortunately, their baby brother Prince Louis was left at home in the care of his trusted nannies while the rest of the family enjoyed a day out at the Isle of Wight.

According to Buzzfeed News, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were on hand to compete in a regatta to help raise money for several different charities that are near and dear to their hearts.

They also wanted to raise awareness for the charities to which they are also patrons which included Centrepoint, London’s Air Ambulance Charity, Tusk Trust, Action on Addiction, Place2Be, and the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families.

What made this royal engagement was that the royals weren’t there to just smile, look pretty, and wave at the cameras. Instead, they actually competed in the races with their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte cheering them on. Both were sailing in a different boat with their grandparents Michael and Carole Middleton while Prince William and Kate Middleton competed in the races.

And while the Duchess of Cambridge didn’t fare well (her boat came in dead last), the nearby photographers had a blast with Prince George and Princess Charlotte. Little George hammed it up for the cameras by wearing a cute sailor’s hate while his sister Charlotte couldn’t help but stick her tongue out at the media.

Instead of chastising the little girl, Kate Middleton had fun with her daughter and even laughed at the photographers, who were clearly trying to provoke a reaction from the 4-year-old royal. The Duchess even encouraged her daughter to wave at the cameramen as well. Unfortunately for Kate, she was awarded a gigantic wooden spoon as the captain of the losing ship. Luckily, she ended the day in good spirits and had a good laugh the regatta’s organizers.
