First-time dad Rupert Grint has smashed an Instagram record this week, but the celebrity father has his daughter to thank for it!
The Harry Potter star welcomed daughter Wednesday G. Graham with his girlfriend Georgia Groome in May. At the time, the couple kept their daughter's identity on the down-low, but in November, that changed when Grint decided to create his own Instagram account. The best part of seeing Grint join the social media world: his first post was a daddy-daughter selfie. And that photo may have something to do with Grint's fast-paced reach to gain the most followers in one hour of joining.
Just within one hour of creating his Instagram account, Grint acquired a whopping 1 million followers-- surpassing Jennifer Anniston. He also beat out Selena Gomez and Beyoncé who also once held the world record for fastest to reach one million followers on Instagram, according to Us Weekly.
The 32-year-old of course has only one person to thank for that: his baby girl. “I think Wednesday actually broke the internet, personally. She gets the credit,” Grint stated.
Of course, Grint's followers are anticipating for the next daddy-daughter selfie or even better, a full image of sweet baby Wednesday. However, they may be waiting a little while longer since it took nearly six months for the Servant actor to grace the world with his daughter's presence, However long it may be, we are here for it. And even if it took Rupert 10 years, we are grateful.
