“Teen Mom OG” stars Mackenzie Standifer and Ryan Edwards started the New Year with the birth of their baby girl.

The Sun was the first to report that the American reality stars had welcomed a daughter on January 1st. Ryan’s father, Larry Edwards, confirmed to the publication that his newest grandchild had indeed been born on New Year’s Day. He added that his son and daughter-in-law decided to name their little girl Stella Rhea. Rhea is reportedly a family name on Ryan’s maternal side. “We’re so excited. She looks like Mackenzie!” Larry told the site. “It was unexpected. One push and she was here!”

Mackenzie later confirmed the good news on Instagram by posting a series of photos of her, Ryan, and their children. “Stella Rhea Edwards came on her own time and surprised us New Year’s Day! What a way to start our year! We are so in love with her already,” she wrote in the caption. The first photo showed Ryan and Mackenzie sweetly cuddling their little girl. The second photo featured the three boys the couple shares between them, which was followed by a close-up shot of baby Stella in a floral outfit.

Ryan originally rose to fame after starring on MTV’s 16 and Pregnant with his then-girlfriend, Maci Bookout. The show documented the birth of their son, Bentley, while they were still teenagers. The pair subsequently landed a gig on Teen Mom, though they broke up shortly after their son’s birth. Ryan went on to marry Mackenzie in 2018. Their son, Jagger, was born early last year. Mackenzie also has a son, Hudson, from a previous marriage.

2020 is definitely off to a good start for this couple… and let’s hope it stays that way. Ryan’s struggles with sobriety have been heavily documented on Teen Mom. He missed the birth of his and Mackenzie’s son Jagger last year as he was in rehab. He later went to jail for violating his parole shortly after his rehab release. The couple have stayed relatively quiet on social media since Ryan’s legal troubles last year. One of the few posts Mackenzie made all year was to announce her pregnancy in July.

As of now, none of the couple’s Teen Mom co-stars have commented or congratulated them on their new addition - including Maci Bookout, who has been vocal in the last year about how absent Ryan is from their 10-year old’s life. But fans can be sure everything will be documented on the upcoming season of Teen Mom, premiering later this year.
