There is someone that former Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson can't wait to meet - her unborn child!

According to USA Today, Johnson's due date is October 23 so she's not exactly super overdue at this point... more like running right on schedule. But according to the former pro athlete, she's over this waiting game and just ready to be a mama and hold her pre-Halloween baby already!

Johnson is expecting her first child with her husband, Andrew East, currently a free agent and former long snapper for the Washington Redskins. The athletic couple has been extremely open about not only their shared joy and hopes for their baby whom they hope to meet soon but also their shared sorrow two years ago.

The couple used their pregnancy announcement to share their heartbreaking story and took to Instagram to post about Johnson's miscarriage two years ago. Just recently, Johnson again remembered their first pregnancy by posting an old photo from two years ago of her holding a pair of baby shoes with a sad look on her face. East wears a somber expression with closed eyes and leans in towards her.

"2 years ago today our world was turned upside down when we lost our first pregnancy...," Johnson captioned the post. "Baby East, we can’t wait to meet you and pray for your safe delivery and arrival into our arms."

And indeed, we can imagine that there have been several prayers aimed toward baby East by his parents and their friends, family, and fans. Johnson and East shared that in July, during a 20-week ultrasound, doctors informed the parents-to-be that Baby East's tiny developing kidneys were "really dilated, underdeveloped, but dilated so retaining a bunch of fluid."

In other words, there was cause for concern. To add to this, Johnson also found out that she had a two-vessel umbilical cord which is something rare that happens once in about 100 pregnancies. Sometimes, a two-vessel umbilical cord can cause Down syndrome. But the couple has been staying on top of their extra doctor visits, genetic testing has come back in the clear and the former gymnast seems to be taking especially good care of herself.

Her most recent social media post showed herself in black workout pants with an aqua-colored sports bra, fully showing off her baby belly.

"I've been told it might help kick this little one out!" Johnson captioned the image on Instagram. "I WANT TO MEET YOU!"

Um, yeah, we know the feeling. Hurry up already please, Baby East! But let's talk pronouns. She or he? According to Johnson, the couple doesn't know the answer to that question.

“Nobody believes that we don’t know, but we don’t,” she told Us Weekly back in July. “I’m such a control freak. You would know if I knew. But we’re not finding out until the baby comes.”

At this point, all that we can say is that we hope the delivery for Baby East is smooth sailing! We can't imagine anything will be too tough for this Olympic champion!
