Shay Mitchell Shares That She Suffered A Miscarriage Last Year

Pretty Little Liars alum Shay Mitchell has revealed that she suffered a miscarriage last year.

The actress started off the new year by reflecting on 2018. She used Instagram Stories to share all the various positive things that happened to her last year including a slew of trips, as well as spending quality time with those who she loves the most.

However, as she focused on the good times, Mitchell also revealed she suffered one of the darkest days of her life in 2018. The You star shared she suffered a miscarriage. Her admission came as she campaigned for more compassion on social media. Mitchell discussed how easy it is to showcase all the good, happy and joyful times on the various platforms. The 31-year-old did not give fans any insight into her miscarriage. There was no mention of when, who the father was, what her dream was or what happened. Instead, the brunette beauty decided to use her miscarriage revelation to ask her followers to focus on social media compassion for 2019. As a New Year's resolution, Mitchell challenged her followers to try to be more empathetic, have more compassion and be more patients, as well as thoughtful with each other in the world of social media.

It was a great way to kick off the new year on a positive note and hats off to Mitchell for sharing such a vulnerable piece of herself with her fans. Perhaps in time, she will open up more about what happened to her. Although she does share aspects of her life on social media and in interviews, when it comes to her personal life, she is very private.
