A dad asked fellow fathers to share photos of how their kids fall asleep on them, but he wasn't expecting it to gain the attention that it has.
As parents prepare for the arrival of their first child (or their second, third, or fourth child for that matter) they will read up on and take in as much information as they possibly can. All of it will help, but you can never be fully prepared. We're not trying to scare you, that's just the reality of having kids. Take solace in the thought that no matter how overwhelmed you feel, every other parent will have felt the same.
Not everything you're not prepared for will be terrifying either. In fact, some of the things you discover will be downright adorable. Sleeping, for example. Most parents will prepare themselves for barely getting any sleep at all and for the most part, that will be the case. Kids will keep going until they are absolutely exhausted. That leads us to one of the cuter unexpected things, the strange places your kids will fall asleep.
Your little one won't necessarily need a crib or a bed in order to fall asleep, not when they have tired themselves out. Trajuan Briggs recently demonstrated that on Twitter. The dad posted a photo of his son fast asleep and draped over his shoulder like an exhausted parrot. "So before bed, me and Isaiah watch Elmo on my phone and he just knocks out on my neck," Trajuan told Buzzfeed.
Fathers we should start a thread of pics showing how our kids sleep on us. I'll start 😂 pic.twitter.com/XFiNU5kGZS— A Pot of Gumbo 🍛 (@Qool_Runnings) April 10, 2019
Trajuan then proceeded to share the photo on Twitter and asked other dads to do the same. "I thought how cool it would be if just fathers shared the craziness together...it just blew up," Trajuan explained. Dads from around the world have been sharing their own snaps. They include recreations, one little girl sleeping face first on her dad's leg, and even one baby nodding off on his dad in the pool after a long swim.
As touched upon at the start of this article, one of the most important things to remember as a new parent is that you are not alone. As you can see above, that doesn't always apply to the bad stuff. One dad captured a cool moment on camera and after sharing it on social media, he discovered fathers around the world also experience that moment.
