There is a new pocket sized sensor that is a game changer for any family with peanut allergies.
Nima Sensor is a small food tester that will help anyone with the life threatening allergy breathe a little easier. For those parents that are constantly worried about sending their kid to a friend's house or going out to eat with a child who has a peanut allergy, this product will be a lifesaver.
So how does this amazing new product work? According to Babble, the Nima “takes the first bite,” allowing a person to see if there are peanuts in the item or not. This product offers the best way and easiest way of letting someone know if there are peanuts in their food. If an item contains peanuts, the sensor will show a sad face. If the item does not contain peanuts, the sensor will show a happy face.
This little device is amazing. Despite those naysayers who believe that peanut allergies are made up, it is a real allergy that affects thousands of adults and children. The Nima will eliminate the guesswork that could be potentially deadly for a person.
Although it is helpful for adults with the allergy, it is even more helpful for parents of kids with a peanut allergy. It is an easy product to send with your child when they spend the night with a friend or even at school. Depending on the age of the child, it could become part of their food ritual when the kid is away from home. It is certainly better than the just try the food and see what happens approach.
The Nima also comes with an interactive app that can be downloaded to any smartphone. The app allows users to share information such as when they find a peanut-friendly dish or when someone discovers a restaurant that can pass the Nima test.

Since the product is new, it is not available just yet. It will be ready for purchase starting March 8th. However, it isn’t cheap. It can be pre-ordered through Amazon for $229, but once it is released it will be $289. Although it is expensive, it is definitely worth the money for those with peanut allergies.
