Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi might have thought she was being clever by showing off her multi-tasking skills online, but there were some people out there who weren’t impressed. The celebrity mom and reality television star has been slammed for posting a photo of herself drinking a glass of wine while bottle feeding her baby at the same time. Snooki welcomed her third child, Angelo, with her husband Jionni LaValle earlier this summer. The couple already have two children, Lorenzo, 6, and Giovanna, 4.

Sharing a pic of her supposedly drinking a glass of wine while holding up her son’s milk bottle with her chin at the same time, Snooki captioned the photo with, “What’s mom life like with 2 kids and a newborn?” THIS.”

While there were plenty of people out there who applauded the mother-of-three for her talents, there were also a lot of social media followers who slammed Snooki for drinking alcohol while she was supposedly breastfeeding her baby at the same time.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, moderate alcohol consumption by a breastfeeding mother is usually not harmful to an infant, especially if she waits at least two hours before nursing. It is not known how long it was before Snooki pumped her breast milk or if she was even feeding her baby breast milk to begin with and not formula. With that said, excessive alcohol consumption while breastfeeding could affect a baby’s sleep pattern and even their early development.

Snooki seemed to defend herself after several of her critics went a little too far with their comments on her Instagram account. She shot back by writing that she likes to enjoy an occasional glass of wine in order to help balance her hectic life as a working mom and television personality.

She wrote, “You’re not a mom. I allow myself to have a few glasses once a week to stay sane with 3 kids. I do what’s necessary to clean my milk for my baby. Let a mama live and keep being 17.”

Snooki first rose to fame as one of the original members of the hit MTV reality television show Jersey Shore, which first aired back in 2009. Since becoming a mom Snooki has tamed her nightlife outings and has focused more on her life as a wife and parent with her family at home.

Snooki has not made any additional comments about the controversy.
