Celebrities becoming new parents at a later age isn't unheard of, with the likes of Geena Davis and recently, Brigitte Nielsen welcoming children way past the average age. Now, 57-year-old actor Stanley Tucci and his wife, Felicity Blunt, have welcomed their new baby girl. Emilia Giovanna was born on Thursday, April 19th, weighing 6 Ibs., 6oz. The star confirmed the arrival of this fifth child, his second with Felicity this week.
The Devil Wears Prada actor joked to People that he hoped little Emilia would look like her mother and have "one" of his personalities. Their new addition joins the couple's first child, Matteo Oliver age 3, as well as Stanley's three children with his late wife Kate. Camilla age 16, and twins Nicolo and Isabel age 18 are undoubtedly excited at the arrival of their latest sibling.
Tucci married his first wife, Kate, in 1995. The couple was happily married up until her tragic death following a battle with breast cancer in 2009. Together they raised their aforementioned children as well as Kate's two children from a previous marriage. A few years later the actor was introduced to Emily Blunt's sister, Felicity at the insistence of his friend and co-star. The pair hit it off and married in a civil ceremony in 2012, moving from New York to London in October of 2014. Not long after, they announced they were expecting their first child together. Blunt and Tucci largely kept their second pregnancy under wraps, not announcing the imminent arrival until March of this year.
The practiced father of five will be well prepared for his new addition, we imagine. After all, they have to have held on to a few hand-me-downs from their five children, right? Not that they would need them of course.
We can't wait to see the first snaps of the adorable newborn, but we may be waiting a while. Stanley likes to keep his family life relatively private - and we don't blame him in the slightest.
Congratulations to this couple!
